NHS Medway CCG appoints external auditors

NHS Medway CCG has appointed KPMG as its local external auditors from 1 April 2017 for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further one year. The auditor panel followed a robust process to appoint a new auditor, including robust evaluation and scoring of tenders received. The CCG’s governing body accepted the advice and recommendation of its auditor panel on appointing KPMG as follows.

KPMG:

  • are judged to deliver the best value for money and service delivery model
  • illustrated a clear understanding of the CCG’s specification and provided supporting evidence on how the service would be delivered
  • we’re able to fully articulate their experience of the NHS
  • provided confidence in their internal processes to minimise conflicts of interests
